U.S. Broadband Penetration Hits 50%

America’s
residential broadband penetration should exceed 50% in the early
part of this year, according to recent research by Parks Associates,
meaning that the milestone has quite likely already been achieved.
Parks analysts expect to see more than 60 million U.S. households
connected to the internet by DSL, cable modem, or wireless broadband
by the end of December, representing 55% of all residences in the
country.
U.S.
broadband penetration reportedly increased by more than 20% in 2006,
finished the year with approximately 50 million connected households.
