Telus Launches Secure Mobile Banking
System
Press Release -
March 28, 2007
Telus Mobility has launched a new service for financial institutions
this week, that will allow consumers to carry out secure banking
transactions on their mobile phones, regardless of manufacturer,
carrier, or wireless transmission standard.
Telus Mobile Customer Self Service is designed for easy integration
with the back-end systems of any retail bank, credit union, credit
card company, or brokerage. Financial institutions can provide their
customers with on-demand access to account information, automatic SMS
notification of suspicious account activity, online auction alerts,
and no-hold customer service via text messaging.
Originally developed by Novata, California-based ClairMail Inc.,
Mobile Customer Self Service requires no additional software on the
consumer’s mobile device. Instead, it leverages the messaging
capabilities that come pre-installed on new handsets.
“Telus is offering financial institutions a new way to help their
customers, providing them with a tool that offers the ultimate in
banking convenience in a secure IT environment,” explained Luc
Vilandré, the Vice President of Telus National Application Solutions.
“The addition of Mobile Customer Self Service to our dynamic offering
of wireless application services reinforces Telus’ position as
Canada’s wireless market leader with best-in-class technology and
differentiated solutions for business.”
