“Interesting,” but Doubts its Mainstream Appeal

U.S.
wireless carrier, Sprint Nextel, will continue providing its customers
with exclusive sneak peaks of Fox’s “24,” as the popular TV action
series enters its fifth season.
Free previews of each 24 episode will be available to Sprint TV users
a week before the show airs.
“This year, we have worked with Fox to give the passionate ‘24′ fans
out there exclusive content on Sprint handsets,” commented Joel
Shadle, a spokesman for the carrier. “We hope to continue to offer out
customers show content they can’t get anywhere else.”
In return for this publicity, Fox will include product placements of
several Sprint and Nextel-branded handsets in episodes of 24, giving
special focus to those with GPS functionality.
