Rogers Launches Mobile Video Calling
Service in HSDPA Markets
Press Release -
April 4, 2007

Canada’s
leading mobile phone carrier, Rogers Wireless, said earlier this week
that it had launched North America’s first ever video calling service
for cell phone subscribers.
Rogers
is letting subscribers use their 3G cell phones much like wireless
webcams, to complete live video calls. The service, which includes
access to a variety of mobile music and video content, is now
available in select markets over the company’s HSDPA cellular
broadband network.
Rogers’ new service follows a similar announcement last week by
America’s leading carrier, Cingular Wireless, which plans to deploy a
mobile video calling service by the end of the summer.
