Nokia and MiTV to Launch
Mobile TV in Malaysia

The
world’s leading cell phone maker, Nokia, has announced a partnership
with Malaysian pay-TV and wireless operator, MiTV Corporation, in
which the two companies will launch a DVB-H-based mobile television
service by the end of this year.
The
Malaysian deployment will be one of Nokia’s first commercial mobile TV
deployments to use DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld)
technology.
“This
marks the beginning of exciting times in the Asia Pacific broadcasting
industry, bringing digital television to consumers’ pockets and
ushering in a new era of personal interactive entertainment,”
commented Andrew Cheong, Nokia’s general manager for Malaysia.
