More Video-On-Demand Products on the
Way, Say Cable Executives
Press Release -

America’s top cable companies say they are “just scratching the
surface” of Video-On-Demand, and promise to continue offering new
ways for viewers to control their TV schedules.
“My sense is that (VOD) goes all the way,” said Comcast COO, Stephen
Burke, at the recent NCTA Cable Show in Las Vegas. “Eventually not
only will you have prime time television shows that you can go back
and catch up with, but eventually on your TV set, you will get
virtually everything or maybe everything on TV when you want it.”
Burke was participating in a panel called “Cable 2.0: Growing Cable’s
Next Business Opportunity,” alongside Cablevision Systems COO, Tom
Rutledege; and Time Warner CEO, Glen Britt.
“Video ON Demand is becoming more powerful and were not going to
stop,” Burke concluded. “So far history has shown when you give people
choice, they want more choice.”
