Apple TV Launch Delayed Until “Mid-March”
Press Release -
February 28, 2007
Apple’s new set-top-box product, which was expected to ship sometime
this month, won’t be available until the middle of March, the
hardware manufacturer revealed on Monday.
“Wrapping up Apple TV is taking a few weeks longer than we projected
and we now expect to begin shipment mid-March,” Apple confirmed in a
statement, without giving a specific reason for the delay.
Apple TV is a set-top-box that allows internet video content to be
downloaded onto a Mac or PC, then replayed on a TV in another room.
With a suggested retail price of $299, the product is being seen as an
attempt by Apple to move beyond its core computer market and into the
digital living room.
