Apple iPhone Wins
Approval of WSJ Reviewer, Walter Mossberg
Press Release - June 28, 2007

The
Apple iPhone, set for public launch tomorrow, has won a glittering
endorsement from the Wall Street Journal chief technology columnist,
Walter Mossberg.
“Our
verdict is that, despite some flaws and feature omissions, the iPhone
is, on balance, a beautiful and breakthrough handheld computer,”
Mossberg wrote in his review of the device. He describes the absence
of a physical keyboard, cited by many critics as a potential week
spot, as a “nonissue.”
The
iPhone’s software “sets a new bar” for smartphones that incorporate
email, internet, and personal organizer functionality, Mossberg wrote.
“Its clever finger-touch interface, which dispenses with a stylus and
most buttons, works well, though it sometimes adds steps to common
functions.”
Mossberg is widely regarded as one of America’s foremost judges of new
gadgets, software, and services. His pronouncements, for better or
worse, have often had a strong effect on how new tech products are
received.
