AT&T Unveils Mobile
Video Communication Service
Press Release - June 20, 2007
AT&T
Wireless is launching a mobile video-sharing service that will allow
cell phone users to send live, one-way video feeds during voice
conversations.
AT&T
Video Share is a step towards increased convergence of wireless,
internet, and digital technology, America’s leading wireless carrier
said yesterday at the NXTcomm communications conference in Chicago.
“Ultimately, services such as Video Share will be accessible over any
of the three primary screens that customers use most frequently: the
wireless device, the PC and the television,” AT&T said in a statement.
Video
Share is now available in Dallas, San Antonia, and Atlanta, and will
be rolled out throughout the rest of AT&T’s 3G service area in late
July. It costs $4.99 for 25 minutes/month of video sharing, or $9.99
for 60 minutes. A “pay as you go” option is also available at a cost
of $0.35/minute.
