FCC Approves Windstream’s Acquisition of CT Communications

Regional telecom provider, Windstream Corp., announced this week that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission had approved its $585 million acquisition of fellow rural telecom incumbent, CT Communications Inc.

CT Communications shareholders will vote on the acquisition on August 23, and if approved, the deal should close shortly afterwards.

As a result of this deal, Windstream will acquire approximately 158,000 local phone lines and 29,000 broadband customers, bringing its total subscriber base to 3.4 million phone lines and 744,000 broadband users.
